No Pictures Today

It is 4:30 p.m. our time and I have no pictures to post.  We took the train to Giverny, Monet's beautiful home and garden. It rained and we were not prepared.  The rain was not forecast and we got wet.  The girls were all troopers.  A few had on water resistant jackets and a few bought umbrellas at the gift shop.  They quickly toured the garden and home and did a little shopping.  We have come back to the hotel to rest and put on dry clothes.
We will go to Montmartre and Pigalle, an area where our artists had homes and studios.  But most importantly they met daily at the Cafe Bourgois to discuss their work and to plan their "Salon de Refuseés" after being rejected from the Paris Salon.  After a quick walking tour of the area we will go to the top of Montmartre, visit the Sacré Coeur Church, and eat dinner, and hope to get a spectacular sunset view of Paris from the steps of the church.  However, the view is doubtful because of the weather.
I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

  1. Hello everyone, sorry it was a wet day, good thing we don't melt! No pics today is okay, the anticipation of more later makes them sweeter when they do come. It is still hot here, no rain for us today, I think I heard the heat index was 105 today. Wishing you a dryer afternoon and a great sunset....xoxos Andrea, the monkey tree is not the same without you. Love, Mom, Dad, (Happy Father's day to all the Dads), Andrew & Ariann. We love you.
